Arrange and hide member fields
Decide what your choir's member profile looks like: sort sections and fields, choose half or full row and hide fields you don't use.
This feature is only available on the web.
What is this?
Under Member fields you decide how a member's profile is laid out in your choir. You see the profile sections with their fields:
- Person
- In the choir
- Contact
- Bank and SEPA
- Notes
- Custom fields
You change the order, set the width of each field and hide fields your choir doesn't use, such as wedding anniversary or bank details. Every change is saved straight away.
How to arrange the fields
- Click Ensembles in the sidebar, pick your choir and then Choir settings.
- Select Member fields.
- Drag a section by the handle to the left of its name to where you want it.
- Drag a field by its handle up or down within its section. It can't be moved to another section.
- Choose Half or Full for each field. Half puts two fields side by side, Full gives the field the whole row. On a phone everything is stacked anyway.
Tick-box fields and the notes always take a full row. You add custom fields at the top via Manage fields.
How to hide fields
Turn off the switch next to a field. The field is shown crossed out. First name, last name and email can't be hidden, and neither can custom fields.
A hidden field is missing:
- when adding or editing a member and in the member's details
- in the form new members fill in via the invitation link
- in the column choice and the filters of the member list, such as birthday month or entry date
- in the member list export as PDF, Excel or CSV
- in reports: if Birthday is hidden, the Birthday List disappears, and if Wedding Anniversary is hidden, Wedding Anniversaries disappear from Choir settings > Reports
If you hide every field in a section, the whole section disappears from the form. Anything already entered stays saved.
Where the layout applies
Order and width apply to the form for adding and editing members and to a member's details. The setting only applies to this choir. Sub-choirs and projects have their own.
Permission
You need the Create & edit members permission.
Tips
- Hide what your choir never fills in. New members are happier to complete a short form.
- Drag the most important fields to the top, such as voice part and phone, so you find them faster in the profile.
- Don't delete anything to tidy up. Hiding is enough, and the data is kept.
