A lot has happened in Chorilo since the May update – from a thoroughly renewed look and more control over your choir's data to many practical functions in the web and app. Here is an overview of everything that has been added in recent weeks.
A Fresh Design
The Chorilo web interface has been fundamentally reworked. Buttons, input fields, switches and selection lists now share a consistent, calmer look, with smooth transitions and subtle animations on tapping and clicking. On narrow screens, labels move aside to save space so that the headers stay compact. The result feels tidier and reacts noticeably more lively, without anything changing about the familiar workflows.
Data Stays With the Choir When an Account Is Deleted
When a member deletes their user account, the data created within the choir – such as attendances, contributions or assignments – now stays with the choir by default, unless something else is specified. This means statistics and the club's history are not lost just because a person closes their personal account. Anyone who wishes can still choose, when deleting, to have their own data removed completely.
Moving and Copying Members
Members can now be moved or copied between choirs and projects. If someone changes groups or additionally sings in a second choir, you take the person over with a few clicks: when copying, they stay in the original choir; when moving, they relocate completely. This saves creating duplicates and keeps the master data in one place.
Finer Permission and New Filters for Member Lists
Who is allowed to see the full member list can now be set as a separate permission. By default the list is reserved for the leadership; when needed, you can grant access to specific additional people without giving them comprehensive administrative rights at the same time. In addition, there are new filters for the member list that let you narrow the view by group, status or other characteristics.
Private Notes on Events
Events now have an additional field for an internal description. Here you can store notes that only the leadership sees – such as technical arrangements, notes on the running order or organisational details that should not appear in the general event description.
Phone and Email Directly Clickable
Phone numbers and email addresses are now directly clickable in many places. A tap on the number starts the call, a tap on the address opens the email program – especially handy on the go on your phone.
Notification When Someone Leaves the Choir
When a member leaves a choir, the leadership now automatically receives an email notification. That way nothing goes unnoticed and the member list can be kept up to date promptly.
Media Instead of Photos – With Your Own Order
The former photo area is now called Media and holds other files alongside images. The contents can also be put into your own order by dragging, so that concert pictures or impressions appear exactly the way you want.
File Versions and More File Details
Uploaded files are now versioned for seven days. If a file is overwritten, an earlier version can be restored within this period – handy when the wrong version was uploaded by accident. In addition, Chorilo shows more details about each file, such as size and modification date.
Reports as Excel and for All Members
Reports can now also be downloaded as an Excel file and can include all members if desired. This is useful when you want to process the figures further yourself or create a complete overview for the club's leadership.
Resetting Engagement Notices
Chorilo can point out declining participation when a member is frequently absent over a longer period. These notices can now be reset – for example after a clarifying conversation or when a longer absence is known and perfectly fine.
Improvements in the App
The mobile app has seen several improvements too. The main menu now only shows the areas you are actually entitled to – which makes navigation clearer. In the sheet music view, markings drawn with a pen or finger are now reliably preserved, even if you flip the page before saving. And the voice trainer has received several improvements at once: a new loop function for practising individual passages in a targeted way, more accurate pitch detection, smoother behaviour overall and a reworked practice game that makes playful training of your own voice more pleasant.
New Page for Composers and Publishers
There is a new information page for composers and publishers. It explains how your own works can be offered in the Chorilo sheet music shop, how the payout works and what support is available for taking over existing catalogues.
Further Improvements
On top of this come many small touches: group chats can now be given a picture, comments display line breaks correctly, and there were bug fixes as well as stability and security improvements in many places across web and app.
We keep improving Chorilo step by step. If you have wishes for new features or come across something that could run better, we would love to hear from you – via the AI chatbot, the feature request function or by email.
